Our Play and Ingenuity Magnet School finds new ways to engage our students meaningfully in interest based learning with a focus on Active Exploration. Students will benefit from making social emotional connections in creative, hands on learning environments while working collaboratively and thinking critically with their peers.

School Highlights
- Community Magnet Partnerships: Learning is enriched through partnerships with Life is Good, Niantic Children’s Museum, and New England Science and Sailing.
- Real-World STEM Experiences: Participation in Electric Boat’s Boat for Kids Program, a hands-on STEM initiative that introduces students to engineering, design, and manufacturing careers, and the Watershed Alliance.
- Active Exploration in Grades K–2: Developmentally appropriate, play-based learning that encourages curiosity and creativity. Students actively explore topics through hands-on experiences that strengthen brain pathways and support meaning-making through play, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary learning.
- Active Exploration in Grades 3–5: Learning through games and collaborative challenges that promote both mental and physical engagement. A strong problem-solving framework helps students understand information across content areas. Collaboration between students and teachers supports tackling increasingly complex, interdisciplinary problems.
